DL533N XL OEM with RF booster: LibNFC-supported Long-Range 15.56MHz NFC RFID Reader Writer (PN533)

The DL533N XL OEM is a large-size NFC RFID smart card reader/writer that supports projects based on the libNFC library. This device enables both the reading and writing of NFC RFID cards/tags.
Furthermore, it also supports NFC P2P communication.
The DL533N XL OEM is developed based on the NXP PN533 chip. Therefore, it follows the recommendations and guidelines of the manufacturer of this chip. Since the NXP PN533 supports a whole range of NFC forum specifications and standards, the DL533N reader also inherits these same features.

Due to the large built-in RF antenna, the range of its reading range has been expanded. Accordingly, the device can read NFC RFID smart cards at a distance of up to 180 mm (7.99″).

DL533N XL OEM with RF Booster - NFC Reader Writer

The NFC device DL533N XL enables the reading and writing of NFC cards and tags as well as NFC P2P communication.
It is based on the NXP PN533 chip according to manufacturers' recommendations and guidelines.

DL533N XL supports the full range of the NFC Forum specifications and standards. This product is fully supported by the open-source library LibNFC, which makes it a good starting point for the development of NFC applications on various platforms. Using  LibNFC libraries and examples is well explained on the LibNFC community and forums. LibNFC is an open-source project, has a big community, and is developed continuously.

Active amplified antenna with RF booster – providing better and more homogenous card reading range. (Optional)

SAM (Secure Access Module) slot for PCM1.1 SAM cards – ideal for storing keys most securely and for performing secure cryptography operations. (Optional).
Ideal for smart shelves due to its size and reading range.

Typical usage

  • Read NFC tags: Read the contents of NFC tags like most MIFARE® cards, FeliCa, Topaz, etc.
  • Write NFC-Tags: Write contents to NFC-Tags (URLs, SMS, Phone No, vCards, MIME types…).
  • Card emulation: Emulate Type 2 and Type 4 NFC tags, which can be read by other NFC devices.P2P communication: Use the device for active NFC-based P2P communication to transfer data between NFC-capable devices.

Software

The device is delivered without any binary driver. Using LibUSB and LibNFC you can compile drivers for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
Using compiled driver you can further explore LibNFC C API and continue developing your software.
